
Dr. Ernest C. Garlington
DR. ERNEST GARLINGTON is presently incarcerated by the Connecticut Department of Corrections at the MacDougall Walker facility. His entire adult life has been dedicated to giving back to the community and that has not changed despite his incarceration. Dr. Garlington continues to help his correctional institution community by developing many successful programs. These projects include the "University Televised Video School (TVS)," "Reading Between the Bars" and the most recent, "Gently-Used Children's Book Drive." His projects have come to fruition because of his keen interest in serving the community and because of all the people who believe in Dr. Garlington and continue to support him.

As a licensed Christian counselor, author, motivational speaker, and founder/CEO of the Stone Mountain Counseling and Retreat Center, Dr. Garlington has always touched a diverse audience. He holds a Ph.D. in Christian Counseling from the South Florida Bible College and Theological Seminary in Deerfield, Florida; an M.Ed. in Counselor Education From Pennsylvania State University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusettes. He is also the recipient of the Burdette E. Larson graduate fellowship. He is a former director of Family Services for New Opportunities in Waterbury, Connecticut, where he supervised psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers in providing crisis intervention and clinical services to at-risk families.
His consultation in private practice included services for athletes, coaches and sports teams; motivational speeches, workshops and couples retreats; consultation to agencies, schools, corporations, colleges and universities and strategic planning and program development for community agencies and civic organizations.
His collaborations included Yale Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services, Community Mental Health Affiliates, Inc., the Hartford, CT School Partnership-Drugs Don't Work program and the Connecticut Advisory Committee.
Dr. Garlington continues to seek Clemency based on the "NEW Guidelines for Clemency Eligibility in the State of Connecticut" as described above right.
